🕒 Total Time: 3–4 hours
Serves: 4–6
🧂 Ingredients
For the Ribs:
-
2 racks of pork baby back ribs (about 4–5 lbs)
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (optional – helps tenderize)
Dry Rub:
-
2 tbsp brown sugar
-
1 tbsp paprika (smoked if you like)
-
1 tsp black pepper
-
1 tsp salt
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a kick)
For Basting/Finishing:
-
1 to 1½ cups barbecue sauce (your favorite store-bought or homemade)
🔥 Instructions
1. Prep the Ribs
-
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (very important for tenderness).
-
Pat ribs dry and rub with olive oil and apple cider vinegar.
-
Mix dry rub ingredients and coat ribs thoroughly on both sides. Let them sit for 30 minutes (or refrigerate for a few hours/overnight).
2. Oven Method (or Grill Setup)
-
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
-
Wrap ribs in aluminum foil, meat side up, and place on a baking sheet.
-
Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.
(For grill: set up for indirect heat at ~300°F, cover, and cook with the lid closed.)
3. Sauce & Sear
-
Carefully remove ribs from foil.
-
Brush generously with BBQ sauce.
-
Place under broiler for 5–10 minutes (or on grill over direct heat for a few minutes) to caramelize the sauce.
4. Serve
-
Let them rest 5–10 minutes.
-
Slice between bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce!
